A popular activity in Argentina
in 2014, I was living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a french/kiwi, I am quite used to tattooed bodies, but it was only when I joined the gym club nearby my house after moving to Buenos Aires that I realised how “madly” everyone in Argentina seemed to be tattooed.
So when I was approached to talk about tattoos for FemmExpat, I joyfully took onboard my duties as a journalist and investigated a bit more to understand better what was going on.
For some time, I was very tempted to do it. I even spent hours and hours looking for the ideal design, the one I could see grow old with me. I don’t know if it is because I couldn’t find the design, because I was afraid of the pain, or just because “sticking” with one thing printed on my skin forever isn’t just for me. I buy amazing “jewellery tattoos” which I enjoy wearing once in a while. Also, I am always cold, so what’s the point in having a tattoo if you can’t show it off?!
